Introducing our Leadership Model

Blog

Sally Dhillon - Nudge Forward

You want to develop as a leader.  Introducing our leadership model to help you achieve extraordinary outcomes.

Use our leadership model as your foundation for continued career success. Claim your place as a leader within your organisation, raising your visibility and resonance, whilst reducing your stress and overwhelm.

Helping you to achieve and sustain extraordinary outcomes, through using the greatness in you and engaging the greatness in others.

To develop as a leader, we believe it is important to develop in all these three core areas:

  1. Leading Self
  2. Leading Others
  3. Leading Business

Leading Self

Beginning with Leading Self, you’ll learn how to enhance your leadership presence through becoming your authentic self.

Being authentic is all about knowing yourself inside out and showing up as a leader as your true self.  This is going beyond trying to be perfect, being a pleaser, trying to be something that you aren’t, barely holding it all together. Being comfortable in your own skin, without the fear of judgement from others.

Becoming your authentic self involves a journey of personal discovery – getting to know your strengths, motivations, blindspots, superpowers and what specifically holds you back.  Developing resources and strategies to have compassion for yourself, build your resilience, manage your focus and energies and ways to be at your best, when it matters.

Great leadership starts with you! Becoming more self aware and knowing how to adapt your personal style to different situations, will help you develop greater leadership presence and become more powerful.

Leading Others

Most activities require the involvement of other people – team members, influencers, customers, sponsors. Leading Others involves harnessing the power of relationships through understanding the hearts, minds and efforts of other people.  Engaging with others to align them towards helping you achieve your outcomes.

Building strategic relationships – the critical relationships that you need to achieve success – is a key leadership competence.  Relationships are ideally built through empathy, shared understanding and respect.

Building rapport, developing influencing skills, managing conflict and communicating well are all important skills for great leaders, enabling you to achieve more with other people on board.

Leading Business

Finally, the focus is on leading business – to achieve the desired outcomes. This applies to leaders of commercial organisations, social enterprises, charities and volunteer groups (and even families!) – any organisation of people, resources and energies for a purpose.   Leading Business involves leveraging your positional purpose  – understanding what you are there to deliver and how you impact the results and outcomes of your organisation.

Understanding how your role directly influences and impacts the organisation’s performance and results provides focus and direction.  Great leaders are able to direct their own energies and the efforts of others towards achieving the organisation’s purpose based on their business, financial and strategic acumen.

When leaders focus on developing all three aspects of leadership, using our leadership model – leading self, leading others, leading business – we believe it sets the foundation for becoming a great leader – a leader who is able to achieve outcomes beyond expectation.

Achieving extraordinary outcomes.

Developing yourself as a leader is not a once in the lifetime activity – a training course, a book or a piece of wise advice passed down from a mentor. Developing yourself to be a great leader involves regular practice, feedback, insights, inspiration and support.  And it’s never too late to start.  Our executive coaching and leadership development services are designed to support you through a growth journey around each aspect of our Leadership Model over a minimum period of 6 months.
